A downloadable game

Misalignment is a first-person surreal walking simulator. The player is placed within a corridor that appears solemn and monumental, yet is constantly slipping out of balance: marble floors, gilded statues, elongated silver arms, and motionless bodies bathing in a fountain together form a space suspended between ritual and dream.

The core interaction revolves around a “die.” The die is both a tangible object that can be thrown and a symbol of fate and deviation. Each roll does not necessarily produce a clear outcome; instead, it gradually reinforces the player’s distrust in the spatial order. Around the fountain, fish, seaweed, star-like particles, and a translucent water surface coexist in unnatural ways, creating a landscape that feels meticulously arranged yet refuses explanation.

Misalignment does not pursue a clear narrative thread or defined objectives. Instead, through displaced symbols, repeated bodily forms, and visual cues of imbalance, it guides the player into experiencing a state of “meaning drift” through walking and observation. Space no longer serves function, objects no longer point toward fixed purposes, and the player’s very presence becomes the only event that continues to occur within this system.

  • Standard first-person movement controls are used at the beginning of the game. After picking up the die, press E to throw it.
